About me

Hi there! I’m Tammy!

I’m the dreamer and creator of this community for women who crave something more than the hustle and shuffle of this culture for our kids and family.

This space is for women who long for a more traditional, intentional, home‑centered life—even while balancing work, kids, and the daily demands of running a home. You’ll find simple homemaking tips, faith‑filled encouragement, time tested recipes, simple homesteading skills, homeschooling tip, and real-life moments that remind you it’s possible to build a life‑giving home in this noisy world.

A Craving for home is a place for nourishing the body, nurturing the soul, and navigating a home-centered life. If you’re building a home where faith, family, and old‑fashioned wisdom shape your days (no prairie dress required), you’re in the right place.

My Story

In my early 30s, I left a longtime career in hospitality management to marry my husband, Joel, and support his growing business. This journey led me to his small hometown in rural Oregon, where life moved at a completely different pace. After a year of marriage, I started my own business, and together, we began growing our family.

As I rocked my babies and read them books, I hated it when I had to leave for the office. Between naps, diapers, and client calls, I found contentment and purpose in being at home with my family—whether I was cooking hearty homestyle meals, gardening, crafting, or canning the fruits of our labor.

A few years later with a preschooler and toddler in tow, we lived in camp trailer, while my husband built us a beautiful home on the back 5 acres of the property he grew up on. And that is where I learned I longed to be. Not in the house he built, but in creating a home-centered life of wide-open spaces for kids and animals to run.

My Hope

It turns out my corporate skills were the perfect match for running a well-organized, efficient home while managing a business. Now, with over 13 years of experience balancing family life, homeschooling, and a “homesteading-ish” lifestyle, I’ve gained an entirely new set of skills that I’m excited to share with you.

Whatever your path—whether you’re homemaking, homesteading, homeschooling, running a home-based business, or heading to the office each day—this mom-life can be tough. At times, it may even feel lonely or overwhelming.

So, join me, as I share organizational tips and time saving hacks for balancing work, school, family time, chores, activities, and kids. As well as my favorite recipes & methods for gardening and preserving, simple ideas for creating a more natural home… and some shenanigans round the farm, with encouragement for a deeper faith along the way.
